I couldn’t think of an “M” word that is a synonym of analysis - let me know if you come up with one!

I’ve finished the analysis of some of my marketing experiments today. With some surprising results.

Keeping in mind that the majority of my ads are “below the fold” because I’d rather readers poke around inside this site, than leave it - I can now share with you which marketing experiments have produced profit, and which are being deleted.

First of all, what hasn’t profited:

  • AuctionAds - I liked the widget because it was pretty and colorful. I didn’t like the lack of control or how the ads that showed up had nothing to do with most that I write about on Center of Muse. After a three month trial - $0. It goes buh-bye.
  • Agloco - I joined because I like the idea of a community based around sharing revenue for being online. And as I am online a lot, it’s a no-brainer to use the Agloco Viewbar when I’m doing non-secure surfing. I don’t use it if I’m working on anything that’s password sensitive or belonging to a client. Just-in-case. The company has not turned a profit, yet, but as I am accumulating hours and “shares” - I’m going to continue to give Agloco more time. (Think about it- Amazon didn’t make a profit at first, either!)

Stay tuned for information on what affiliate programs and advertising experiments produced enough for me to keep them & strongly recommend them to you!

And when I’ve got work to do with helping someone start a business or working on a website project or writing piece - a stiff neck and cold hands is not only uncomfortable, it’s counterproductive.

So, as the ultra-awesome “Boss of Me,” I want to add a hot tub to my “company health plan.” I mean, really, how fabulous would it be to be working up a writing piece or marketing strategy from my hot tub office? Sweet! [Read more →]
