Are dead blogs a blight on internet “real estate?”
Hey, welcome back! Did you remember to join our newsletter? Did you know that paid members receive tons of cool freebies and discounts?
You know the ones. Or perhaps this is even YOU.
A blog starts, the writer is fired up, does one two or three posts, and then… nada.
I came across one such blog today.
I was browsing keyword tags at Squidoo. Specifically “grant writing,” because I forgot to add that one to my “get to know me” lens.
The second entry is a guy claiming to be a grant writer, blog writer, etc. The problem I find is this: when you click his blog supposedly designed to advertize the quality of his work, only to find that he’s only made four posts, since the start of the blog.
Granted, even *I* have a blog that only gets posted in monthly – Ok, So. But that is *designed* to be a once a month newsletter, it’s not the main site advertizing my business.
Don’t let this be YOU!
A writer writes. It’s that simple. If you have something to say, write it down. EVEN and ESPECIALLY if you’re busy with other clients!
If you’re a writer, even an aspiring writer with no clients, do not let your blog or website go stale. What you write, on the internet, helps potential clients find you, and helps current clients stay in touch, and develop a relationship with you, in their own time.
If your website or blog is your virtual real estate, why would you want to let it die out?
If you’re having trouble staying motivated, join a writer’s club, like the one we offer here, at The Center of Muse. Just don’t let your blog, your website, your prime business real estate on the internet go stale & die.
At least, not without starting another one.
