Connor Wilson asks “Will you upgrade?”
I have, personally, sent stern emails to my past web hosting company asking why they didn’t upgrade to new WordPress versions as quickly as I would like. I would get the standard pat on the head with the excuse that the new versions were often full of bugs and they waited for a stable release.
My thought had been that the latest version WAS the most stable release, but when they keep releasing newer and newer versions – I’m starting to see the error in my thinking.
So, now, I also have to wonder, when continuing to design proprietary themes (not that I don’t love Cutline, but it’s time to show that yes, I am capable of stringing code together!) & custom WP-based sites for clients – what do I need to do to ensure the sites works on old & new versions of WordPress?
I’m sure the answers will come. And I’m sure they’ll be in the form of a knowledgeable WP guru. While I’ve been coding HTML since the early 90’s, PHP is still exciting and new. (Cue “Love Boat” theme song – c’mon, you know you wanna sing it with me!)
