When making the leap into owning a blog or a website, there are a few things you should consider, before signing up.
1. Free or Paid? This will likely depend on if it’s going to be a personal site, or if you’re looking to maintain an online business presence.
If you’re going to just do an update on yourself or your family every once and a while, free may be alright for you. You might want to consider how many options you’ll have with style and template options.
If you are looking to make money from your site or blog, consider paying for webhosting. Even freelancers and independent practicioners should consider owning their own domain with their own web hosting.
There IS however, a combination, many free hosting sites will allow you to point your domain name to your area of their free service. Before you choose this option, make sure you understand how swiftly their pages load, and whether or not their servers are overloaded.
Sometimes free & cheap just aren’t worth the cost.
